What Causes Fever Along With Body Chills And Stomach Upset?

My dad has had fever, chills, body aches, stomach upset that comes and goes for the past two months. It seems to come more frequently. It lasts from anywhere from 8-24 hrs. He went to the doctor once and they tested him for the flu but he didn t have it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
The symptoms you describe may be caused by many medical conditions. Some possible causes may include:
-Viral infection
-Digestive bacteria infection
-Digestive Parasitic infections.
Since a possible viral origin has been eliminated, i will advise you see the Doctor for a stool exam/culture, full blood count. If any germ identified, a more objective treatment will be prescribed.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Best regards
