What Causes Feeling Of Obstruction And Pain In Throat?

ive been smoking for about a year now, on and off, i am not addicted and i have always smoked menthol cigarettes, i am starting to feel like there is a stick trying to come out of my throat, like sharp pains but i dont know why. what is the meaning of this? does it have anything to do with smoking?

Hello,

Foreign body sensation in the throat may be due to pharygitis or allergy or acid reflux or post nasal drip or granular pharyngitis etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Use tablet montelukast and Levocetirizine once a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
