What Causes Fatigue, Nausea And Dizziness During Pregnancy?
My 23 year old daughter is pregnant - 15 weeks. About 3 weeks ago she started having episodes where she felt energy drain from her, nausea and like she was going to pass out. Happens routinely in morning when she begins workday as hair stylist. OB referred her to a Cardiologist, which she can t get into until next week. A couple of years ago she had episodes where she felt butterflies in chest. Monitor showed nothing, of course. Blood tests normal except for slightly elevated iron level. She s scared to death with concern.
Nausea, fatigue, and dizziness are common during early pregnancy. Please be advised to eat a healthy diet, frequent meals and stay hydrated. Since she is a hair stylist, she might have to stand for long periods. So while standing for a longer time, make sure to shake legs and wiggle toes to improve circulation. Follow up with the cardiologist as scheduled to evaluate cardiac status. But most likely she might not have any cardiac issues.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
