My symptoms: Fatigued on and off each day for weeks. developed a slight sore throat last Wednesday and went to first care just to make sure it wasn t strep. No fever, he said lungs are clear. Quick test was negative for strep, so they took a culture (haven t received back yet). Next day began coughing a lot, eventually began coughing up yellow phlegm. Still coughing up yellow phlegm. Low on energy, still no fever, My chest does not hurt excessively, only slightly. I hear phlegm when I cough when it s about to cough up.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

I suggest using a throat spray for antibacterial properties.

I also recommend drinking liquids and rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
