What Causes Fatigue And Rise In The Heart Rate While Treating Anxiety?

Hi i was curious about some symptoms i was experiencing and would like some insight as to what might be the cause. So this happened today, it has happened before, many months ago. I get very fatigued when standing or even sitting, i can feel my heart rate rise and i get this almost hyper breathing where i feel like i need to breathe more i can feel it in my chest its like fatigued breathing. It almost always happens when i get up to urinate i feel like i need to hold on to somthing. im a male 17 years of age. I was sort of diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder after having chest pain strait from morning untill night for 2 months. After hearing that there was nothing wrong with my heart i was sort of reassured and my anxiety has been under controll for about 4 months now. I thought i d mention this incase it might play a role.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* It is the autoregulatory system of the body in terms of carotid body sinus baro and chemoreceptors which sense the alteration in the blood vessels pressure and hence control the sympathetic and parasympathetic input to the peripheral blood vessels as well as heart and heart rate-controlling nodes of pacemaker.

* When the sympathetic supply overlies the parasympathetic one, there is raise of heart rate and blood pressure and reverse is true for a parasympathetic system which is inhibitory.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
