What Causes Fatigue Along With Shortness Of Breath Post Brain Tumour Surgery?

I am writing re: my 76 year old mother. A year ago, she had a mild stroke and was found to have a brain tumor that was successfully removed from the lining between her brain and skull. It was benign. She had made good and steady progress in her fine and major motor skills and in cognition until around mid-March when she began to complain of fatigue and not feeling well. She was walking up to 1/2 mile a day, cleaning her house, etc. We initially thought this was because she was not sleeping well and saw our MD. He began a series of medication changes, including putting her on B12, but nothing has really helped. She is now sleeping well, but other symptoms have worsened. In fact, she is becoming increasingly weak, unsteady on her feet, feels exhausted all the time, complains of shortness of breath from very mild exertion, loss of appetite and stomach pain after eating very small amounts. She was seen by our MD on Wednesday of this week. He did an EKG in his office which showed no anomalies and reviewed bloodwork she had one month ago. This also showed nothing of concern. He suggested a stress test , but Mom quickly told him that she did not have the energy to even do the test. He stated that it appears to him that her problem is more muscle weakness than exhaustion. He is referring her back to her neurologist for follow-up. What could be causing these issues? Would you suggest follow-up with a cardiologist as well? Other relevant medical history: Non-smoker, obese, uses snuff daily. Since her brain surgery, she has had 2 bouts with kidney stones resulting in serious infection which had to be blasted and one instance of dehydration. She had her spleen removed several years ago and has hypertension corrected with medication. She also takes Snythroid daily. Other surgeries include hysterectomy for non-cancerous fibroid tumors, benign polyps in her colon and on her vocal cords and sinus surgery. Family history is positive for pancreatic cancer-her mother, colon cancer-brother, COPD-sister Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
