What Causes False Positive Test Result For Marijuana While On Suboxone And Amphetamine?
I am really Trying to keep a hold on everything. My husband is drug tested every week in New Orleans Day Reporting Center and i am not saying they dont know what their doing but they should have the knowledge to know what prescriptions cause a false positive for amphetamines. He takes rantidine lisinopril w/ hctz , suboxone, and i am soo going crazy trying to figure this out Doc plz help me to show this court system my husband does not do drugs, he tested pos for weed n hasnt had any.. Help DoCTOR
Ranitidine seems to be the cause for false positive amphetamine. Based on the list of medications taken by your beloved husband, ranitidine appears to be the cause for the false positive test for amphetamines. I advise him to undergo confirmatory gas chromatography-mass spectrometry tests (GC-MS) which is more specific (truly positive) than the routine urine screening tests and can virtually prove that your husband has not taken amphetamine or related drugs.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
