MY FATHER IS 89YRS OLD AND HAD SURGERY TO REPAIR HIS FEMUR (2ND SURGERY) 3 WEEKS AGO. 1ST SURGERY WAS ON DECEMBER 2010. HE IS NOW IN A REHABILTATION CENTER. WHILE DOING THERAPY HIS PRESSURE DROPPED AND HE WAS ADMINISTERED OXYGEN AND IV SALINE. HIS PRESSURE IS NOW 117/90. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SINCE STARTING THERAPY ON MONDAY 3/14. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?

Hi There

I understand your concern for your father's health and I would like to tell you that as our age advance our body become more fragile. As your father is 89 years old at this age repairing a femur is a major surgery and some amount of blood loss do happen in major surgeries due to which blood pressure falls.
To compensate for this loss IV fluids are given for volume replacement.
Oxygen is administered in almost all major surgeries to maintain blood oxygen levels.
As his BP after surgery is well within normal limits so there's nothing to be worried .

I wish him good health
