What Causes Fainting In A Person Suffering With Parkinson's Disease?

my 72 year old father had a stroke in june of this year and this morning he fainted - he has parkinsons and just finished exercising and was coming up the stairs when he got upstairs , walking across the kitchen he fainted. Is this a TIA or a symptom that a heart attack is coming or another stroke? YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history is concerned fainting has many reasons so check all points below --::
1)Do ECG and ECHO and clinical signs for all heart disorders, while doing echo tell doctor to measure PA pressure and check carotid artery stenosis
2)Check Neurological signs care fully to ruled out TIA(Transient Ischemic Attack)if required one CT/MRI will be advised
3)Check Hb% to ruled out anemia if low correct it by injection
4)Check vital sign Blood pressure,Respiratory rate,Pulse rate,Temperature
5)Check all drug history(make a note of it)
6)Check sugar level if low adjust drugs
7)Check past history of GI bleeding or occult blood
8)vasovagal syncope which is not serious problem[Sudden nausea, lightheartedness and fainting after seeing blood or an emotional event]
9)Finally check all four clinical sign of Parkinson disease by his treating neurologist.
