What Causes Eye Squinting With Red Spots Under The Eye?

Hi ... my 16 mth old has been pointing and squinting with his left eye or the past month... I took him to our local GP... they said a duct was blocked...and gave me a script to fill if it became inflamed like a stye... however he is doing the squint and point more regulary and no sign of a stye... however small red dots seem to appear and disappear underhis eye on the skin... Thx
