What Causes Extremely Low Hemoglobin And Potassium Count?

My sister had back surgery in feb and it was noted that she had significant blood loss. hemoglobin started out at 14.? and ended at 7.? Dr noted in her chart for home health to follow up but they did not. A large bump appeared by the incision and home nurse contacted dr who ordered blood work. still came back low. eventually, bump subsided and that was it. Fast forward to last week my sister saw her primary dr because of sores on her tongue. dr ran blood work, contacted her to go to ER because hemo and potassium were extremely low. Tests: blood work (results stayed same) throat scope (ok) colonoscopy (3 polyps taken care of and sent to lab) echo (because of intense swelling in hands and feet) don t know yet. Hospital dr said tongue sores were from body being in distress. Vomiting, ? throat scope showed nothing even though she had gastric bypass in 2003. he said stomach looked fine. Why is her hemoglobin and potassium still low since feb? I m taking her over because she is too weak to fight for herself. After chronic back pain for years (2 surgeries in 2 years) Constant pain meds there seems to be a more going wrong. I m worried they re not staying ahead of serious issues. She s 65. After reading this please let me know what else i should ask her Dr.
