What Causes Extreme Pain On Movement Post Left Hip Replacement Surgery?

Hello, I had a total left hip replacement 11/5/15, currently experiencing extreme pain with any weight bearing for walking, pain in right buttock, extreme pain laying on back,, actually to painful to lie flat on my back, shooting pain down outside of left leg to top of foot. It has been seven months since the surgery, the surgeon transferred me to a pain management doctor in January, received numerous prescriptions, celebrex, lidocaine patch, presides gel, tyenol codiene #3, and told to wait six months for the surgery to heal. All the scripts were ineffective for the extreme pain. I have bad reactions of nausea and vomiting to the codeine #3, stopped taking 4/16. Why in your opinion would I be experiencing extreme pain with any weight bearing on the hip to walk, radiating to the right buttock with painful muscle spasms ? Thank You

Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the pain in right hip more on weight bearing indicates that there is disturbances at left hip replacement area which is not performing precise work of weight bearing and the more amount of weight is transferred to right side. In my clinic, after evaluation for range of motion and other clinical parameters, I do recommend a CT scan of the both hip joints for final diagnosis and cure accordingly as multiple medications are being prescribed till now.
