What Causes Extreme Fluctuation In BP Levels?

I am 66 and in very good health; my wellness test results are great. I also have Fabry disease and I receive infusion every 2 weeks.I do not like needles but I use numbing cream and the nurses spray freeze on my arm. I was told that I have white coat a few years ago. A few months ago- All of a sudden my blood pressure has been erratic. PCP and cardio agree that my bp obviously needs to be controlled. I am on pills for this. My bp numbers are very good at home but when I visit my dr my bp goes sky high. I am suppose to have a colonoscopy in a few weeks; will I be okay with the twilight sleep? My blood pressure will go up considerably. Please advise. YYYY@YYYY Am I following a good procedure?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Fluctuations in blood pressure can be due to medical conditions & also due to emotional or physical strain. You are suggested to avoid stress & anxiety. Stay cool & comfortable.

Do not overthink, worries will cause changes in blood pressure & may cause serious pathology or trigger heart disease.

Avoid alcohol, smoking or addictions if any. Maintain a healthy lifestyle (stay active & happy, take nutritious homemade food, regular walking, maintain low BMI).

You are suggested to get a complete medical check-up done to rule out diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, thyroid problems & CNS problems). Get treated at the earliest.

For good sleep, you ca take warm milk, almond milk. Food is rich in magnesium, calcium, B6, nuts & seeds.

Do not take heavy meals before bedtime, food containing water, avoid high protein & high-fat food, alcohol & caffeine 4-6 hours before bedtime. Your vitals will have to get back to normal before any medical procedure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
