What Causes Extreme Dryness In The Mouth?

Female, age 63, 5 8 220 lbs, I have been using my first CPAP for 4 years. I would have to pop it off a couple of times a night because the pressure built up so much. I had to get a mouth guard because my tongue pushing on my teeth made my teeth hurt and feel like I was making them loose. I recently switched to a Philips System One Heated Humidifier with heated hose. It is wonderful. The pressure doesn t build up until I have fallen asleep and I was able to get rid of the mouth guard. My mouth is never dry in the morning (i.e. I sleep with my mouth shut all night long.) The problem is the phlegm. I kept adjusting the heat and humidity down. I have finally turned the heat off to the hose and emptied the water reservoir. Now there is no phlegm, but I feel I should have the humidity. Your thoughts?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, certain conditions are there which could cause the dry mouth and these are, diabetes, stomatitis, throat infection, less water intake, endocrine dysfunctions, all these need to be ruled out till then try to have more water, better to get done the blood sugar test, have more green leafy vegetable, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
