What Causes Excessive Vaginal Discharge And Swollen Feet While Suffering From Ovarian Cancer?
Hi, My MIL has ovarian cancer. She is 85 years old. Surgery was not advisable because of her age and hence under palliative treatment. She has continuous veginal discharge. Her feet are swollen. From yesterday she has started vomiting multiple times. The vomit is of black color. We are trying everything to make her comfortable. Has she reached her the ending stage of life. We are all very tensed but unable to do anything. We do not want to put her through any hospital admission and further tests etc. as it may cause her unnecessary distress. Please let us know if this is one of the end stage symptom.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is hard to predict if this is the end stage, but it does sound like she is getting close. The discharge is most likely from the cancer and the swelling is likely due to blockages of blood flow or lymph. Please ask her doctor to give her something for nausea.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
