What Causes Excessive Sweating And Weight Gain While Suffering From Hypothyroidism?

I have had hypothyroid for many years. I feel sometimes like maybe I experience hyperthyroid symptoms. I have terrible heat issues with profuse sweating however,I am gaining weight. My facial son is very dry and maybe some thinning hair.Is it possible to experience signs of both disorders?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

No, persons may be hypothyroid, euthyroid (normal levels) or hyperthyroid. It is not possible to have more than one condition present.

You should have your levels checked if they have not been done recently to see where they lie at the moment.
Your doctor may also want to rule out other causes of your symptoms as well. This may require additional blood tests

I hope this helps
