What Causes Excessive Stomach Gas Causing Abdominal Pain?

I m having excessive gas pains in my lower chest and upper abdomen. I woke with pain in my right rib cage this morning. Ibuprofen helped a little but it gets worse when taking a deep breath. I have been burping sporadically and having lots of gas and loose stool. The only thing different has been I ve been eating peanuts. :)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you may be suffering from gastritis inflammation of stomach lining. Taking antiacids such Pepto-Bismol or Maalox is advisable. Also, try to limit high acidity foods.

Taking Buscopan can help you relieve the pain. Visit a gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
