Hello,
It's due to harmful interaction between the two medications. If taken along with Seroquel or Geodon, Zyprexa may increase side effects such as
drowsiness,
blurred vision,
dry mouth, heat intolerance, flushing, decreased sweating, difficulty urinating, abdominal cramping,
constipation, irregular heartbeat, confusion, and memory problems.
Taking Seroquel along with Geodon is also not safe. Combining these medications can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening.
You may be more susceptible if you have cardiac diseases, conduction abnormalities, or electrolyte disturbances (for example,
magnesium or potassium loss due to severe or prolonged diarrhea or vomiting). So, in view of the above you are advised to consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but safer alternative medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
