What Causes Excessive Blood In Urine In A Child?

My son is 4 years old. He has a development delay and a very high tolerance to pain. Last night we went to the ER and there was noticably large amounts of blood in his urine. They sent it to the lab and the results came back he has no UTI, and very large amounts of blood in his urine. They did no further testing and told us to follow up with his pediatrician. He has no insurance and they knew that and I have no idea if I can afford to take him to his family doctor. What else could be causing there to be so much blood in his urine that it is obvious when he pees.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic

Presence of blood in Urine without associated Urinary tract infection could be due to following causes
1. Bladder Calculi
2. Bleeding Diathesis
3. Glomerulonephritis

I would suggest Ultrasound for further assessment.

Take Care

Best Regards
