What Causes Excess Formation Of Saliva During Pregnancy?

Hi, I m 16 weeks pregnant and have excessive saliva, I was eating lemon with salt till I wasn t able to eat lemon anymore, now I m just eating salt by it self. I don t eat less then 1/4 t spoon a day. I was wondering if eating salt is bad for the baby and me?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The excessive salivation could be purely due to the excessive stimulus you experience to food, and should be nothing to worry about. As for the salt, as long as it is in moderation it should not be a problem, but if at all it is causing any fluctuations in blood pressure you should restrict the consumption.
