What Causes Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma Ovarian Cancer?

Hi, I am about 4 weeks past having a TAH. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 endometriod adenocarcinoma ovarian cancer. I am not able to find a whole lot on this, but doctor says this is a good cancer to have. He recommended 3 rounds of chemotherapy as added insurance. Do you agree? I am 48 years old, and have no other health issues. He said there is an 85% survival rate with the chemo. I am just trying to gather information so I understand what to expect. Thank you so much!

Hi,

In the question you mentioned endometrial adenocarcinoma which is of uterine origin and you also mentioned ovarian cancer. Please make it clear if it is stage 1 endometrial cancer or ovarian cancer. TAH is done in endometrial carcinoma. Stage 1 adenocarcinoma is early stage where in the cancer is confined to uterus. So you don't need to worry much as you had the surgery as well as chemotherapy.

If it is associated with ovarian carcinoma, we have to evaluate the stage and extent of ovarian involvement and thus treat accordingly. Stage 1 endometrial cancer has got a very good survival rate and I can say almost 90% and above. Just have hope and trust your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
