What Causes Elevated Heart Rate While On Eliquis?

I have atrial fibrillation and take flecanide and metaprolol. I was taking a 325 mg aspirin but my heart Dr has put me on Eliquis twice a day due to factors such as my age, 75 etc. I have been doing great for several years and now started the Eliquis two weeks ago. Also , i am caregiver to my extremely ill husband which has resulted in occasional panic attacks. Today i took my Bp and it has been 134/80 range but my heart rate started at 112 and now 2 hrs later it is 122. When should i be concerned and seek medical attention and could it be just anxiety or the Eliquis

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It may not be due to Eliquis. We have to rule out possible causes like tachyarrhythmia. Consult a cardiologist and plan for an ECG.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
