What Causes Elevated Heart Beats After Receiving A Cortisone Shot?
Hi Dr.-Today I received a cortisone shot in both of my knees for arthritis. It s the first time I ever received one. Now it s 2am and I m still not at all tired and my heartbeat seems to have increased ever so slightly although I took my BP and it s good. 118/70 (Pulse rate 65). Would it be okay for me to take a klonopin or ambien?

Your blood pressure level is absolutely normal. The increased heartbeat feeling is called palpitation. The anxiety could be the reason for that.
If your sleep affected then Alprazolam like anti-anxiety drug better to take. I will not prefer to take mentioned two drugs by you. So your palpitation could be due to anxiety.
