What Causes Elevated Glucose Levels In Blood After Exercising?

I recently did a fasting glucose test, but didn t know that exercising was not recommended. I did an hour of intense working (bootcamp) and had my blood drawn about 30 minutes after my workout ended. I also chewed gum during my workout, as usual, and didn t even think about that. My lab results came back and my glucose levels are 146. Could this be from the gum and/or workout? I have never tested high for glucose, so to surpass the pre diabetes window and be in the diabetes numbers has me a bit concerned.
