What Causes Elevated Creatinine Levels?

I had kidney failure after a TKR from becoming very sick and dehydrated from the pain meds given to me after the surgery. I went to the ER and was in the hospital overnight with them pushing fluids and potassium. Since then, my criatinine has always been high....1.1 and at this years physical 1.27. I know there is no cure for kidney failure, but I m wondering if drinking 100% cranberry juice would be helpful? I do have high blood pressure that has is now always within range thanks to BP meds and I am not diabetic. Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is no cure for kidney failure. You can use dialysis. Cranberry juice is used for urinary tract infection caused by Escherichia coli. The only treatment is renal transplantation.

Take care.

Hope I have answered the question.

Best regards.
