What Causes Elevated Cholesterol And Triglyceride Levels?

Cholesterol is 271; non fasting; triglyceride 236; ldl 41; hdl 195 I eat Hello Fresh fit menu; fruits, berries, little bread, cook with olive oil...why would my numbers keep going up? I am overweight, just beginning exercise program. Retired 7 days ago from high stress 70 HR / week job. I have been taking 2 red yeast, 1 milk thistle in hops that would lower naturally. Don t want to go on statin. Options? I just did Lifescreening and no concerns in heart testing of carotid arteries. No blockage. Glucose 89 and other panels normal ranges. My BMI is upper 30s - can my high weight be the main issue since my eating is healthy, non-proceeded, limit red meat, etc. Thank you.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
It is good to know that your diet is healthy. It does help. However, being overweight, it self can affect your lipid profiles. Therefore, by only altering your diet pattern is not going to help. Weight reduction will definitely help in bringing down the raised lipids. Taking statins will definitely help in correcting the lipids fairly rapidly.
But as you are not keen on taking statins, then weight reduction is going to be the major option. Thanks.
