What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

I ve started a walking program and have started with 5 minutes at a pace and then will work up to 30 minutes. My concern is that my Systolic AND Diastolic Blood Pressure both go up. I ve read online that Diastolic should remain about the same, unless you have hardening of the arteries. I m on a beta blocker and my BP at rest is usually low (115/65). However the walking it can be 155/83. This worries me.
