The heart rate usually slows down when blood pressure raises. It is an established physiological phenomenon. So, an one time rise in blood pressure that accompanies a dip in heart rate need not worry much.
I would have suggested my patient to do regular monitoring. And asked to consult if there is increase in blood pressure on more than 2-3 occasions and also if there is constant dip in heart rate below 40.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
