What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure And Fatigue?

Maybe. I don t have any $$ so I think you probably won t be able to help. My blood pressure has been getting higher and higher and is now 170/100. It used to be 90/60. I am an athlete, but now am very tired, have muscle pain during and after workouts, having nosebleeds, some dizziness, nausea. I have had a pituitary tumor in the past, but current CT scan did not show it. I also have Hashimoto s disease, so take synthroid, and if I don t take acyclovir daily I have a shingles outbreak. My PA thinks I need to see a rheumatologist. I think I need to see an endocrinologist. ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The high blood pressure might be caused by the micro pituitary tumor which are can be missed by CT sometimes. Although thyroid disorders can affect blood pressure, 170/100 is quite high. This can cause end-organ damage like kidney and retinal damage. It is evident from your history that your immune system is compromised due to which you have frequent outbreaks of shingles. In my opinion, you should see an endocrinologist as they are other hormonal tests which can help detect pituitary tumors instead of seeing a rheumatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
