Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello doctor, I am 31years old female and i got to know that my TSH 3rd generation is 5.8 a month back. My gynecologist had prescribed me Thyronorm 25mg and had asked me to get the fasting blood test done after 4weeks. Now after the test the report shows that my TSH level is 7.1. So i needed your advice regarding this, why has my TSH increased to 7.1 even after taking the medication.
I think your tsh is not very high. Are you pregnant? If yes then reference ranges are different in pregnancy. At this much tsh I would not prescribe any medications to patient until any symptoms are noted.
