Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello , when diagnosed I had an extremely high psa count, it was over 2000. I ve been in therapy for 1 year 2 months. I took taxotere when that stopped working I took zytega, my psa went down to 22 but in one month it went back up to 23, does this mean that zytega now no longer works. I have prostate cancer that metastasized to my spine and ribs. YYYY@YYYY
The sudden rise of PSA sounds different possibilities as
- acute inflammation of prostate as severe bacterial prostatitis
- flaring of carcinoma prostate and local invasiveness
- advance metastasis.
Pre rectal xamination and whole body scan are mandatory for this issue fixing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
