What Causes Elavation In BP Level In Spite Of Taking Medications?
Hello Doctor, My question is for my father. He is 57 Yrs & has a diabetic and Blood Pressure. His sugar level is ok, but BP is the one that is at higher level. He is taking continuous medicine for BP since 3 months, but it is not coming to its normal level. Done every test like ECHO, ECG, Kidney. Report says everything is ok. Also he has a problem in his left eye. For this he is taking consultancy from Venu Eye hospital, Delhi. Doctor said, Retinopathy is require for this, and they will do it through injections followed by lazer. But for this BP and Glucose should be normal. Now after proper medication his BP level fluctuates from 210/100 to 170/99 and it is not coming to the normal level of 150/90 as per his age. Please suggest.

3. Stage two: systolic 160–179 and diastolic 100–109.
4. Seriously hypertensive systolic ≥ 180 and diastolic ≥ 110.
To treat hypertension, step by step the patient receives appropriate medications from a doctor. Each step takes some days to establish, otherwise, it leads to an unstable blood pressure. It demands your father to be tolerant.
As it can be seen that your patient may demand a combination medication therapy to control his hypertension. This method is based on bilateral co-operation between doctor and patient using anti-hypertensive drugs such as alpha, beta, angiotensin and calcium channel blockers, diuretics, vasodilators and so on.
Please notice that your father suffers from intraocular hypertension demanding specific consideration before and after elective surgery since it may increase blood pressure enormously and interfere with operation process while your father is under surgery.
