What Causes Ear Pain With Nasal Blockage Due To Cold?

What would you prescribe for my 11 yr old daughter (58 kgs) who is having mild ear pain and nasal blockage due to a cold? Have been giving her 10ml doses of t-minic twice a day for 3 days already. Gave her ibugesic syrup to ease the ear pain last night.

General Surgeon 's  Response
HI.
The ear pain is caused because the infection in the nose is transmitted from the nose to the ear via Eustachian tube.
Your Daughter is overweight- so the dosage have to be adjusted as per the weight. The medicines you are giving are fine. Get a Consultation of the ENT Surgeon to see the level of infection so that a suitable antibiotic may be added.
