What Causes Ear Pain, Headache And Pain In Gums?

My symptoms started with ear pain, fullness, pressure etc. in right ear and then extended to left ear also with accompanying headache, now today I have severe pain in my gums on left side top and bottom where I have no teeth...I have dentures, also pain has spread to neck area below jawline on the same(left) side as gum pain, also have slight congestion(coughed up blood streaked mucous). Was wondering if I may have a sinus or inner ear infection? What ever it is I m sure a need antibiotic treatment... Please advise, thanks.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . You mentioned that you have ear pain, headache and pain in gums. The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to sinusitis , TMT problem or severe tooth infection. You should take this serious because if sinusitis left untreated infection can spread to surrounding part like middle ear or brain (meningitis). So i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment . You should also refer to dentist in case condition doesn't get better . Doctor may order X-ray or CT scan for proper diagnosis . He/she may prescribe nasal decongestant , antibiotic course or mucolytic agent (ambroxol). If the cause of sinusitis is allergy the doctor may prescribe antihistamine drug. For now do warm saline gargles , take saline nasal drops , take steam 2-3 times a day and drink plenty of water to keep your self hydrate . Also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
