What Causes Dry Mouth And Nausea While On Minocycline?

Good evening, I just recently started taking Minocycline 100mg for acne. My acne is not severe and I will have regular cyst appear mostly on my chin or surrounding area. I am not happy with how the antibiotic makes me feel. Example being, extreme dry mouth, nausea, and tired. IS there a natural alternative that may be worth trying as I do not think I will stick it out for 3 months!

Hi,

Since you have mentioned that your acne is not that severe, no need to take oral antibiotics like minocycline.

Oral antibiotics can cause gastritis, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth etc. So better to use topical (apply on acne) drugs like clindamycin cream on acne. It is having excellent effect on acne lesion.

Since it is topical drug, it won't cause any abdominal side effects. And you can definitely apply it for longer duration like 2-3 months without any worries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
