What Causes Dizziness While On Metronidazole?

I have been taking metronidazole the past week for BV. I have been waking up dizzy and lightheaded for the past 3-4 days. I was also treating a yeast infection with monistat the past week as well at the same time I was taking the antibiotics. Could the medication be a reason why I have been feeling dizzy and light headed and like passing out?

Metronidazole certainly can cause a dizzy or light-headed sensation. If the light-headedness is more with changing positions such as sitting or laying to standing, then it could be secondary to low volume, as in you need to drink more water. If you cannot tolerate the metronidazole oral pills, you may consider switching to vaginal metronidazole. If you have already completed the course of the medication, then your symptoms should start to improve if they were secondary to the medication.
