Hello and welcome to HCM, Weakness which led to slipping of the object from hands suggests muscle weakness. Muscle weakness implies muscle related disorders called myopathies. However, investigations are required to diagnose the condition and appropriate treatment can be instituted. I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical examination. Investigations pertaining to musculoskeletal system are required- electromyogram (EMG). If EMG is abnormal, markers for muscle diseases and muscle biopsy may be required. Besides disorder of musculoskeletal system, disorders of nerves can also cause similar symptoms. Thus, after examining the musculoskeletal system, examination of the nervous system is also required.
