What Causes Dizziness, Nausea, Headaches And Pain In Left Eye?

Hi, yesterday i started getting dizzy, and it lasted all day. This morning it has started again, and I also feel nauseous. I am a 48 year old woman, and I have recently started menopause. I have had a blood test to confirm this. I have been getting headaches too, and this morning I started getting pain in my left eye. Not unbearable, just enough to be annoying, but its the dizziness that is causing me concern, as it is new.

Neurologist 's  Response
Well the simplest explanation is that this is migraine. Migraine is not just about head pain but dizziness. A lot of patients experience different types of dizziness with their migraine. THis usually means vertigo, lightheadedness, or imbalance. Some people have vertigo as their only symptom of migraine! It's the nausea that gives it away as a symptom of migraine.

If this is migraine, this could be due to menopause. Hormonal changes can change the brain's activation of migraine since the fluctuations of estrogen aren't there anymore as when someone has not had menopause yet. More often, migraine goes away with menopause but sometimes things worsen and sometimes things worsen before they improve. Symptoms can change as well.

Then you should talk to a neurologist or headache specialist for proper treatment.

But, because this is a new symptom and I do not know your exact history of migraine or other headaches, you should be evaluated by a neurologist.
