What Causes Dizziness And Nausea?

My husband is dizzy and things spinning. Now nausea has set in. He says his head feels full, stuffy, but not a cold. We think it is ear related. I put ear drops in and gave him Tylenol Sinus tablets. Need something for nausea, to settle his stomach. He is on diabetes meds(insulin) and heart meds for angina and congested heart. He took 2 Tums but don t know what else to give him that I may have. Not vomiting.

Hi,

I think all these happening due to insulin (nausea, dizziness, etc.). Things to consider/do:
1. Always check the blood sugar.
2. Do not take overdose of insulin.

There is a need to re-consider the type of insulin that should be given. Please discuss that with your doctor. Please inform the doctor as soon as possible. There are other types of insulin also.

If too much full stuffy ear, you can consider CT scan of Ear (Axial). Meanwhile, for nausea you can take, ondansetron, anti-emetic, anti-cholinergics.

Other things to do:
1. Drink beverages that settle the stomach, such as ginger ale or chamomile tea.
2. Avoid caffeinated colas, coffees and teas.
3. Drink clear liquids to avoid dehydration (if vomiting is associated with nausea).
4. Eat small, frequent meals to allow the stomach to digest foods gradually.
5. Eat foods that are bland and simple for your stomach to digest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
