What Causes Dizziness And Nausea In The Morning?

Nausea woke me up this morning which has gotten worse as the day has progressed. I have also had a foggy headache/lightheadedness. I then had a bout of diarrhea. Around 11:00am I started feeling dizzy. This has continued all day increasing steadily and coming in heavy waves.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Nausea with foggy headaches and a bout of diarrhea are suggesting acute gastroenteritis.

However, depending on your age, I advise to monitor your blood pressure and sugar levels, and record the results.

Dizziness could be due to headache and secondary to electrolytes loss during diarrhea episodes.

Should see your physician to get your vitals checked.
To ease your symptoms, for the moment, I advise to:
- drink more plain water and fluids, avoid heavy meals
- take oral rehydration salt to replace the lost electrolytes
- take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora

Wish fast recovery.
