What Causes Dizziness And Nausea After A Fall?

I fell down 2 stairs this morning and landed on my left inner butt cheek. There is a greenish bruise. I got really dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out while still sitting there. After I got up I was still really dizzy and almost vomited. The dizziness and nausea have passed now. I m just really sore. Should I see a Dr?

Hello,

Sometimes when there is sudden impact on some body part after accident as you had, the body may react with dizziness and nausea due to shock of the accident and immense pain you may have felt at that time. If you have not had any injury on the head, then you should not worry about it. However, if your head is injured in any case and you felt dizziness and vomiting, I would suggest you to go to a doctor immediately as your head my require CT Scan.

If only hip bone is injured and greenish bruise is there, then it is just hematoma. If your movements of the part are unrestricted except some pain due to injury and no sign of swelling, then there is nothing to worry about that too. The hematoma will heal in its own time after turning black from green and then normal appearance. You can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg available OTC if you are experiencing pain. Ice application over the area can help. As far as you are feeling decrease in pain and soreness as days pass, there is really nothing to be concerned about. Just give it some time and it will heal.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing Healthcare Magic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
