Historically, I do not handle blood well, that is, seeing my own. I have passed out before during blood draws and once when I cut myself. Two weeks ago I had a small cyst removed from my back, requiring stitches. A week later I had them taken out, a week earlier than I expected. I went to work after that, worried my wound would pull apart. I had not having eaten breakfast, and had an "all natural" low calorie energy drink ("Viso" is the brand) and was telling a coworker about my procedure. A few minutes later I started feeling dizzy and experienced a loss of equilibrium, and my lips went numb and tingly. I didn't lose consciousness but I was very, very close.

I have been fine since and have tried not to think about my wound. It has seri-strips and an overlying bandage on it now. This morning tho, the same thing happened again, and both scenarios were exactly the same: I woke up, skipped eating, had the same energy drink and about an hour later, while telling my mom over the phone about my procedure, had the exact same reaction, again not losing consciousness completely. I can't decide what the trigger is or if all three (low blood sugar, too much caffeine at once, and my general squeamishness) are playing a part. I am a 41 year old male, no history of diabetes, tho I am overweight and on cpap therapy. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! -Mike
