What Causes Dizziness And Left Ear Blockage Post Lumbar Puncture?

Hello, i had a lumbar punch 12 days ago. But im still getting light headed and dizzy when walking or picking this up doing any kind of house work. Also while i have these dizzy spells i become very hot and bothered. Straight after my lumbar punch my left ear blocked and has since blocked every day at some point it does un block pretty quick but just wondered if this is all normal side effects of a lumbar punch.Thank You Kelly

Hi,

CSF leak is the most common cause of dizziness and ear blockage after a lumbar puncture. Drink plenty of fluids, strict bed rest and sitting. Walking is also not allowed in this scenario.

Thank you. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
