Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizziness And Blurred Vision While Suffering From Multiple Sclerosis?
I was diagnosed with probable MS about 4 years ago. No treatment was prescribed because of my age. I am 81 now. My mother had MS and so does one of my nieces and a first cousin. I have been dizzy for 3 days (also have COPD) and extended use of oxygen has not helped. Is there any point at this time to try to get a positive diagnosis. Blurry vision and seeing double also occur from time to time.
Both the dizziness and the changes in vision may happen with MS. On the other hand if you have COPD, high concentration of inhaled oxygen may make you feel worse due to changes in CO2 levels.
I would recommend you to talk to your doctor and have a thorough examination. Many times dizziness may be due to a simple virus as well and no specific treatment is needed but make sure you keep yourself hydrated and also avoid standing or moving fast so to prevent falls. You will need to discuss with your doctor the concentration of oxygen that you need to use and what is safe in your case.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
