My (82) year old mother just took her first dose of metformin last night. When I got home from work she told me she had an episode of light headedness and some dizziness. She had a tight feeling envelope her entire upper stomach and felt the need to take several breaths. She did have carotid artery surgery (9) days ago and her vitals checked okay on Tuesday. Mom had my sister come over as she did not want to be alone. Had I been here I probably would have taken her into emergency. Mom suspects the metformin. What do you think?
