What Causes Diverticulosis?

Yesterday a dr found a growth in my intestines where the large intestine meets the small intestine. I haven t gotten the results of several biopsies as yet. He was doing a colonoscopy. He is going to have me do an MRI and then surgery. Is this unusual and possibly result of diverticulosis? Thank you.

I don't think so. Diverticulosis doesn't causes intestinal growthes of "per se". It coulb be infected or bleed or even perforate causing acute abdomen but not the above mentioned complication. So what I'd like to suggest is to wait quietly the biopsy result, wishing the best in surgery.
