What Causes Disorientation During Nights While On Sertraline?

My mom is taking 75 mg of Sertraline at bedtime and she keeps loosing her balance and becomes very disorientated in the middle of the night. Is this a normal side effect that will pass with time or could the dosage be too high? She s been taking it only for the past 2 months.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the loss of balance is related to the medication.

It is one of the uncommon side effects of this medication.

You may need to speak to her doctor for confirmation and to rule out other causes.
If there are no other causes, then the medication may need to be altered.

I hope this helps
