What Causes Disorientation And Blurred Vision After Taking Tamiflu?

Hello - Both my husband and myself are both dealing with this horrible flu but we are on the mend. Started tamaflu today. Ok - went through every symptom but one my husband experienced last night - took 3 (200mg) Ibuprofin - fell asleep - when woke up a couple of hours later - very disoriented and with blurred vision that lasted until he went to bed. Vision would be blurry and then come in to focus every time he looked at something. He is a pretty tough guy but this alarmed him? I didn t experience this symptom. Can you tell me if this is normal? Thank you - Sherry

Hi,

Tamiflu can cause disorientation, hallucinations and delirium. It may cause ophthalmic side effects.

So, better to consult your ophthalmologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
