What Causes Discomfort In The Ears While Opening The Mouth?

This morning, I swallowed a drink of water without sitting all the way up (in bed). Ever since, I have had a creaking sound in my ear, mostly when I swallow or open and close my jaw. I read that is has something to do with the eustacian tubes and air, and I have closed my mouth, pinched my nose and held my breath and it hasn t helped. It s ÜBER annoying and I need to know if this will go away on its own.

Hi,

It can be due to disorder in a temporomandibular joint in which sounds in ears or clicking is commonly observed.

You need to report first to dental hospital to find if all teeth are ok, is there any missing teeth, malocclusion. Any teeth anomaly found can be corrected and you will relieve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
