What Causes Discomfort In Stretching Leg And Walking In Left Leg?

I am having trouble extending my leg, walking up stairs with my left leg. I drove a 30 hour road trip and was extremely swollen after the trip and am wondering if this is related? what can I do? I also worked out the day after arriving and while working out my left leg began to spasm.

Dear- thanks for using HCM and I will be glad to help you with your medical question. After 30 hour driving , the muscles of the legs can be tense and develop spasm. The venous system is pressed due to the sitting position and the legs are down all the time. That makes it harder to move the blood up,against the gravity, for which you can have swollen legs. That is why is advisable to stop every 6-8 hrs and move the legs, elevate them if possible, but at least walk and stretch them. The spasm of the legs after worked out was because the muscles were very tense and contracted after all these hours of driving and could not handle the drastic change.
I hope that my advise has been helpful
